Little Blue Spot
What would do if you turned blue?
Little Blue Spot is a short comedy film that asks what would you do if you woke up one morning to find yourself turning blue?
Director Craig says of Little Blue Spot, “The film was made while I was a student at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design. We were not really making many films on the course and I got itchy feet so I scrabbled together some beer money and pulled a lot of favours to make the film so I could get some experience under my belt as a director. It was shot on 16mm and was the first project of mine to be edited on Avid. This was in 1996 as the transition from analogue to digital was just beginning.”
The film went on to win Best Student Film and Best Comedy at the 1997 Surrey Film Festival and screened at festivals around the world including the BBC Short Film Festival, the Brest Film Festival in France and VOD Dublin.
In August 2026 the film screened at the National Eisteddfod of Wales thanks to Screen Alliance Wales.
There are currently no plans for a sequel.
